Mike Porter has been developing and delivering quality B2B and mass participation sport events for over 25 years for companies including the world’s largest events PLC, Informa. In 2010 he established his own events business Podium 4, initially serving the multisport and mass participation event community as Triathlon Racing Inc (TRI). Podium 4 has a reputation for delivering creative community engagement and pioneering event concepts. Between 2010 and 2014 Podium 4 led the way in innovative events with the Lakeside Triathlon (the UK’s first swim bike run held at a shopping centre – Lakeside, Europe’s largest retail complex) in partnership with OneStepBeyond, the SwimFest Series and the Speedo National Open Water Relays (the UK’s first national championships) in partnership with SwimforTri, and H2Open Day (the UK’s first open water swimming show) in partnership with the publishers of H2Open (now Outdoor Swimmer magazine).
Since then, Mike has focused on delivering events for the maritime and offshore industries whilst also developing innovative multisport concepts, including Duathlon Live, and the challenge event start-up charity Accolaid (Adventure & challenge event competitor's organisation providing legacy & aid).
Claire Wood has been working in the event industry for over 10 years, her career began with a well known publishing firm, organising worldwide events in countries such as Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and the UK and consisted of conferences, networking events, gala dinners, awards ceremonies, workshops, product launches and exhibitions.
After the birth of her daughter Claire started her own event management business and organised many different events, including exhibitions, shows, award ceremonies and charity events.
She is now working closely with Podium 4 project managing multisport events in and around the UK.
